The use of Curve was problematic for Crypto.com in the early days. Transactions were blocked for sometime before being allowed (with no Cashback). From a compliance perspective GBIT comes very close to “manufactured spend (MS)” which card issuers and card networks see as illegal (in most jurisdictions). You are correct that PayPal is often attempted as an exploit - this is an easy way to have your account closed. Our team is experienced in these matters and watches transactions carefully.

Hi everyone, this has taken a bit longer than expected but Card Purchase (aka Buy with Credit/Debit Card) is now live on Android - App version 2.7.1. We continue to work with Apple to get approval of the latest app which will help us catch up on a number of features (already in the Android app) that will make the IBANs better etc. The team is working on physical card ordering and more.

Important Update for Curve Users As you are aware, we have been facing some technical issues with the acceptance of transactions via third-party platform - Curve - using the hi Debit Card. Moving forward, in order to improve the user experience of the hi Card, we are pausing the earning of Spend Rewards and Rebates on Curve until further notice. Members can still continue to spend online using their virtual card, to continue earning. Moreover, we are nearing the launch of the hi Physical Debit Mastercard, and can't wait to share more with you guys. Here's a sneak preview 🔥 We thank you for your ongoing support, The hi Team

This is an issue related to the use of the Curve card which is actually two transactions-in four steps. One for Curve (their card) and then to our card. This all has to be done in milliseconds (check balances, verify transactions, approve). This type of transaction has four steps (versus a normal two) and we have been having challenges to complete the double transaction prior to time out. Once the charge is started, it tends to "break" at the third stage and it shows in our system as authorized transaction (we deduct the balance), but then it fails on Curve's side. Next, as this is not a normal failed transaction (which normally is refunded in short period of time - roughly on day), we have to wait for the transaction to expire (which is 7 days) thus, the delay in refunding/clearing the failed payment. The tech team is investigating solutions including moving servers etc, to improve this experience.

📌Community Update from Sean Rach, hi Co-Founder 🔹IBAN-deposits We have been looking into the IBAN deposit issue in particular and have found that there have been some alerts (twice last week for example) from our banking partners where shared periodic issues they have had. We want to be able to provide a heads up to the community when we get these alerts so that we can manage everyone's expectations. We currently are expecting that things are operating properly but will advise if there is a known maintenance or other issue affecting deposit. 🔹Refunds There is a team investigating the delayed refund issues (pre-auth refunds included) and hope to be able to reduce the timeline on this as well. 🔹Rejected transactions The issue on rejected transactions is also being investigated. Seems an issue with the transaction “timing out.” Troubleshooting underway."

LIQUIDITY REWARDS stake.hi.com Q: Why do Gas Fees increase each time I “Claim HI”? An important point to understand, is that you accrue Rewards based on block time, and that those Rewards become Claimable 365 days later. Rewards are calculated based on your percent share of the liquidity pool according to the APY and number of LP tokens that you have staked at any time. The APY fluctuates depending on the number of participants and LP tokens in the pool. With the above in mind - and because of the way the smart contract is written - every time you press “Claim HI” (or call get_reward) the calculation for the amount of rewards to be generated becomes more complex, meaning you will pay higher gas in subsequent get_reward or “Claim HI” calls. To avoid costly gas fees - and many of you have already arrived at this conclusion - our suggestion is therefore that you allow claimable rewards to accumulate rather than withdrawing with high frequency. Update regarding Reactivation of Cards. The team continues to work through the final tests, based primarily on the review of a large sample group of transactions. These tests are being completed in close collaboration with our partners at Moorwand, Tribe and Mastercard. As part of the test, we re-opened the cards for a small test group (approx. 30 members). The transactions carried out by the test group are all going through careful scrutiny on the back-end. As things stand, the next step will be to reactivate cards for a second, larger batch of members, followed by deployment of an update to the App Stores and reactivation for all other members. In the meantime, our team is working to deliver the rebate payments for Digital Subscription usage since initial launch. We understand this is a frustrating period, and are grateful for the ongoing patience of the community. After a stop-start launch, our focus is now on ensuring the re-launch meets the expectations of our community. While many of you ask for commitments to timelines, to avoid further disappointment we will refrain from doing so. We also felt that our daily interaction within Telegram groups was at times counter-intuitive, so for this period our intention is to focus updates when there is actual news to share. There have been a number of questions relating to international FX fees as part of the test group, once again, we’ll give a clear update on this once we have worked through resolving the issues with our processing partner.
